The Harlem Slave outfit is available in two different sizes which are:
- One Size Fits Most which should fit those ranging from 90 pounds to 160 pounds
- Sizes 2-14
- One Size Fits Most Plus Size which should fit those ranging from 165 pounds to 275 pounds
- Sizes 16-20
The Harlem Slave outfit is a 3-piece outfit that comes with
- Collar with chain
- Halter bra
- Thong with attached mesh skirt
I will discuss the top and skirt below an will touch base on the collar as well.
The top for the Plus Size option should fit thos e who have
- D/DD breast
- Bust of 40"-54"
Harlem Slave top ties up like a bikini top strings that tie around your bust and your neck. There is no wire in the cups so there isn't a whole lot of breast support.
I didn't get a picture of the collar itself but I have some specs on that as well. I do want to point out if you have a thick neck the collar isn't going to work well. I measured my neck an its 16" around and the collar felt like it was choking me, I am thinking they just used the same collar for both sizes instead of thinking that us plus size folks tend to have thicker necks too.
The collar is
- 1.25" in width
- Undone laying flat it is 16.75" long
- Chain is 26" long
- Hand loop is 6" long
The thong is actually sewn to the purple mesh skirting which I personally thought was not a good concept but we will discuss that later. So we have a thong and skirt sewn together. The front you will see the same gold material used to make the top and it has what I would call a "tummy panel" that will hide the lower part of your stomach. In the back you can see the rear of the thong. The inside of the thong is lined with the same black material as the top is, there is about a 3 inch long cotton liner in the thong. A cotton liner is important when it comes to undies as you want your vagina to be able to breath an not sweat to death. The skirt as well as the top is made out of 100% polyester according to the tags inside the garments.
Here are the measurements from Dreamgirl
- Waist 36"-44"
- Hips 42"-56"
- Inseam 36.5
- Rise 9"-9.5"
My Measurements I took
- The purple mesh skirt is 35" in length and is 25" width wise
- Waistband laying flat unstretched is 18" wide, stretching the band to the max gets you 23.5" wide
All the packaging for this outfit can be put in the recycling bin.
I had my eye on this piece for a little bit after seeing it on another site and thought it would work out well for me. Yeah, let us go with I was completely WRONG on that one. It was a no go from the get go from my partner, he is always asking if we got new stuff in the mail. When I told him I got a new lingerie piece he was excited and wanted to see me in it right away, he had no clue what it was and didn't care. I sent him a I will put it on later text along with a picture of the packaging..... I got a the response of "NO, I don't like it!" So I never put it on for him or took pictures in it for him either.
I put the Harlem Slave outfit on minus the collar and immediately wasn't a fan of the purple mesh skirt it didn't look cute like it did on the packaging (what ever looks like the packaging right?!), so I took it off feeling that the item was an epic fail. I put the outfit in a Ziploc bag an tossed it in my desk chair it was moved around a lot before I could come up with an idea of what to do with this failed piece of lingerie. I liked the detail for the most part even though the jingle of the coin like decorations made but this outfit had potential it did and I made it into a simple bikini.
I can say that the construction of the Harlem Slave was great because it took me around an hour or more to take the skirt off the bottoms. I had to cut the mesh off but it didn't stop there because of the way it was sewn together. Getting the mesh off the back part was almost like a piece of cake the front part was the hardest to remove mainly because of the tummy panel being sewn to the front of the thing. After taking it a part there are little holes across the front of the thong bottom but it isn't something that is super noticeable unless you know what you are looking for or right in my crotch. I think it looks cuter without the mesh skirt, when I was originally looking at this piece I was hoping that the skirt and thong were separate but they weren't.
My overall thoughts would be that unless you plan to make it into a bikini I wouldn't get this item. I can't recommend this piece as it isn't what I had hoped it would be.
