I reached out to the folks at The Safe Alternative about reviewing for their company I was happy when I got a message back stating they loved the way my site looked an would love to work with me. I was also excited to hear that they would be featuring my reviews on their blog as well. I compiled my list and sent it right over, not longer after I received a tracking number for Hank.
Hank is a silicone dildo made by Tantus which is a high quality silicone toy maker. Hank is a realistic toy meaning that he resembles a human penis. So far in a research Hank comes only in a Caucasian color, if you are a person who prefers their toys to resemble their own skin color Hank might not workout in that sense for some. Hank is pretty much your standard realistic dildo in many aspects, there is no bullet hole in the bottom so if you must have vibrations you will need to find a nice clit vibe to use on your clit. Hank is designed for vaginal and anal penetration.
If you are into harness wearing or pegging with harness you can use Hank for that as he is O-Ring compatible. There are many possibilities with Hank, male and female bodied can get pleasure from him. In my honest opinion I believe if you know you can handle a decent size penis a beginner could use Hank. With a length of 6.5 inches an insertable length of 5.5 inches and being 1.5 inches in diameter I would say that Hank is an intermediate toy that experienced users would like. If you are a size queen Hank may fail you there. I love the phallic head and the veiny texture throughout the shaft. You will be able to use Hank anywhere you see fit since he doesn't have a power source he is quiet and waterproof. If you are one to travel with your toys let it be known Hank isn't discreet in any way shape or form so if it is found they will know what you are doing with him.
Hank is made out of 100% body safe platinum silicone that is latex free, phthalates free, hypoallergenic, nonporous as well as non toxic. Platinum silicone is usually more expensive an is that of medical grade silicone. There are many aspects that one would love about silicone just as much as I do. With it being nonporous you won't have to worry about your bodily fluids soaking into the material where bacteria can form and grow. When it comes to toy use it is good to have a toy made with great quality material, if you are going to be sharing your toys you can cover them with a condom or sterilize them between use. If you choose to you a condom make sure it isn't a silicone lubricant being used. Most of the time platinum silicone is compatible with silicone toys but use with caution. Hank can be sterilized in several different ways and I will explain that in my care section.
You will find that Hank has some lifelike textures such as the phallic head and the veins that run through the shaft. I personally couldn't feel much of the veins on the shaft while it was inserted that could be different for you though. The phallic head makes for easy insertion and can make it better an close to a lifelike feeling, Hank even has testicles. The testicles are uneven which happens in real life as well, they have some texture and crater like areas as if it were "wrinkles" on the sac. The head of Hank is a smooth shiny texture while the shaft is more of a matte finish that isn't as smooth feeling as the head. Some silicone toys can cause a draggy feeling which I didn't experience with Hank so that is a plus.
The silicone Hank is made out of has some give to it but not a whole lot. I have some silicone toys that are really plush where as Hank has some give but is completely firm. Firm isn't all that bad as Hank still is flexible an can bend the way you need him to.
Sine silicone is nonporous and isn't pumped full of chemicals there is absolutely no smell or taste to the material. If anything like me you will love that there is no smell, I remember long before I discovered silicone that most toys had horrible smells that gave me a headache, thankfully when it comes to Hank you won't have to worry about that.
Hank comes in the standard Tantus packaging which is a clear plastic box that states its made of 100% plantinum silicone on the front. On one side of the box it tells you more about Tantus and what makes their toys the best out there. On the opposite side the same information that is on the back of the box is listed in French, Spanish and Dutch for those who are unable to read English. Flipping over to the back of the box is has some of the history of Tantus and states more of how to clean and an care for Hank. If you are gifting Hank to a friend or lover the box isn't all that great for gift giving especially if you are trying to make it look discreet. There is NOTHING discreet about that packaging, you can see through it and it states in several spots that its an adult toy. Once you open the box you will find Hank slipped into a plastic shell that opens in the middle to give you access to Hank. I wouldn't say the box isn't good for storage as it is but not for long time storage of the toy. With constant opening and closing of the box the plastic can give out an break or tear so you will eventually have to find a different way to store Hank.
Hank isn't really hard to care for, I can say that he does collect lint and hair very easily. Cleaning your toys is a MUST before and after use this can be done in many different ways.
Ways to clean Hank
1.) Antibacterial toy cleaner-Using one of these is a simple easy way to clean up Hank after playtime. Simply spritz down your Hank let set for a few minutes then wipe clean and let dry.
2.) Toy wipes or baby wipes-While this cleans off your bodily fluids it doesn't help kill anything on the toy even though silicone is nonporous I would still recommend anything antibacterial when it comes to cleaning your Hank.
3.) Hot water and antibacterial soap-Simply run some hot water over Hank and rub him down with the soap let sit for a minute and rinse thoroughly. After rinsing you can either pat dry or let air dry before storing.
4.) Dishwasher-Since Hank is waterproof, has no motor and is made of silicone so he won't melt you can toss him in the top rack of your dishwasher. I don't recommend using dishwasher detergent when doing so as the hot water will be enough. This sterilizes Hank as well if you plan to share him.
5.) Boil on stove top-Yep you read you can get a pot an boil water an let Hank jump in for a nice hot bath. Boil for 10-15 minutes you can either let him cool in the pot or use tongs to remove an let him dry. This too is a way to sterilize him
6.) 10% Bleach solution-Add 10% bleach to water and let Hank soak for 5-10 minutes remove an rinse thoroughly. After rinsing pat dry or air dry before storing.
When it comes to storing you can either store Hank in the original package you received him in as I do with most all of my toys. If using the package he came in doesn't work with you there are many toy pouch options you can purchase from various online sites that are great for storing. The cheap and easy way to go is a Ziploc bag. Not all silicone toys react with other 100% silicone made toys but I recommend storing your toys where they don't touch each other. I recommend this especially if you have lower quality material toys as they can melt together an we don't want melted dildos.
Using lubricant with toys sometimes is a must for some, it is recommend to use a water base lubricant with silicone. If you must use a silicone or hybrid lube make sure to spot test on the base of the toy. If no reaction then you should be safe to use the lubricant with Hank.
I had a wonderful experience with Hank, he was used alone and not with a partner. The girth was a little much but wasn't too bad. I did notice though with the wrinkle at the bottom of the head and slight curve it would catch a little on my pelvic bone. Since I am one of who need vibrations especially for clitoral stimulation I used my We-Vibe Salsa for that. You could very well hold a bully to the base of Hank to make him a vibration toy as well. Hank was easy to hold while in use especially with the testicles, that is where I held him while thrusting which made it simple an easy. I would recommend Hank to anyone looking for a good quality dildo made of silicone. Hank has been on my "Wanted List" for a little while and I am glad to have it as a part of my collection.

As a part of the Eden Loves Bloggers program I was given the opportunity to choose 2 items that totaled out to be $50 in value. I chose the Tantus Curve Dong, as one of my items. I also requested the Shunga Oriental Bath Crystals as my second item, I got those in Ocean Scent the review for that will be in another post.
What Is It & How Is It Used?
The Tantus Curve is a dildo that can be used by male or female, for vaginal penetration or anal penetration. With the curve at the top you can get G-Spot or P-Spot stimulation. If you are into using harnesses for strap-on play the Curve can be used for male and female sex for double penetration or for female partners who like penetration. The Curve doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles and doesn't vibrate. Since there is a flared base making the Tantus Curve safe for anal usage without having to fear that it will get lost inside your anal cavity. Since there aren't any mechanical components to this toy you can take it into the bath, shower, hot tub or pool if you wished. There really is no limits of where you are able to use the Curve. You can get the Curve, in 3 different colors:Midnight Purple,Black and Purple. I got mine in Midnight Purple.
Material & Texture
The Curve is made out of 100% body safe silicone, meaning that it is nonporous, hypoallergenic, phathalate free and can be sterilized. The silicone of the Curve is smooth with very little drag when it runs along your skin. On the underside of the dildo you will find around 5 ribs that go down the shaft for added pleasure. Since silicone is a nonporous material you don't have to worry about using a condom when sharing amongst different parts of your own body or partner sharing. I would still recommend cleaning or using a condom if you plan to share in the same session. Silicone also doesn't hold on to bacteria that can cause infections which is one reason why I get all my toys made out of silicone. This particular dong is pretty firm but flexible.
The Tantus Curve is designed for G-Spot or P-Spot stimulation, hence the curve at the end of the dildo. With the ridges down the shaft it helps add pleasure and amazing sensations when in use. This is a simple shaped dildo that has a slightly life like head for easy insertion. As mentioned earlier in the review this is anal safe and harness compatible. The Curve has a wide base at the bottom with the Tantus name stamped on it.
The Curve measures in at:
6 1/2 Inches Long
5 3/4 Inches Insertable
4 1/2 inches Circumference
1 3/8 Diameter
With the size and shape of Curve I wouldn't say he was very travel friendly if you were going to be traveling by public transportation. If you were to fly with him and your bag was searched they would know what the Curve was used for. If you share a home with someone or you frequently have people over an you don't want them knowing of your toys this is one you would not want out in the open. The Curve isn't a very discreet toy.
The Curve comes in a clear plastic package that states it is made of 100% platinum silicone. The packaging is nowhere near discreet as you can see the toy from the outside. It also states that Tantus makes the world's softest toys for adults. I beg to differ on that statement though ;) The packaging that the Curve comes in can be used for storage if you wanted to but it isn't a very sturdy package. If giving this as a gift I would wrap it up nicely in wrapping paper. Since the package is made of plastic you could easily recycle it as well if you didn't want to use it for storage.
Care & Maintanence
Caring for your Curve is pretty simple since it is silicone there are several ways you can clean it as well as sterilize it.
To sterilize your Tantus Curve you can either boil it in a pan of water on the stove for 3 minutes, toss it in the top rack of your disherwasher without dish soap or soak it in a 10% bleach solution for 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly. If you don't wish to sterilize your toy you can simply spray it down with an antibacterial toy cleaner and wipe clean. Another way to clean your Curve is by washing it with hot water and soap.
Since the Curve is made of silicone it is recommended to use ONLY water based lubricants with it.
Overall I enjoyed the Curve from Tantus, I just wish it was more squishy like the Vixskin line that I have fallen in love with. I did get great G-Spot stimulation from this. I didn't feel any drag in the silicone which is always a plus :)
